From
the DataCenter's Youth Strategy Project,
Winter 2002:
California
Campaign for Educational Justice
Following the release of their report, Still Separate,
Still Unequal, Californians for Justice is working to
expose racial inequality in California's public schools
and to win changes that provide a high quality education
for all students in the state. The report documents racial
inequities in California's public school system, including
unequal access to college prep classes and information,
hazardous health conditions in classrooms and racial disparities
in school discipline. Californians for Justice is collaborating
with students, parents, teachers, and community-based organizations
across the state to develop a campaign for educational justice.
The DataCenter is providing research and consultation to
the campaign, and is participating in planning and campaign
strategy meetings.
